Dr Shwikar Othman

Shwikar Othman is an early career researcher and a research fellow who joined the Wardliparingga Aboriginal Health Equity theme, Population Health, in early 2022. Shwikar is a dedicated researcher and academic specialising in health, nursing and midwifery. Her primary focus is to conduct research that informs and improves clinical practices, lifestyle interventions, and health system policies.

Since completing her PhD in 2020, Shwikar has been involved in several research projects across health disciplines and gaining expertise in qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods research. She is skilled in utilising both quantitative and qualitative techniques for data collection and has the ability to integrate, analyse, and evaluate data effectively. Additionally, Shwikar has experience in conducting systematic reviews, rapid reviews, meta-synthesis, and aggregation of research findings.

Throughout her clinical, academic, and research career, Shwikar has established strong national and international collaborations. Her research endeavors have had a direct impact on policy development and clinical interventions. She is enthusiastic about collaborating with like-minded individuals and utilising her skills to make a positive impact on health and wellbeing outcomes.
