Associate Research Fellow Erik Noschka

Erik Noschka originated from Germany and undertook veterinary training at the University of Leipzig. After staying on for a clinical training in Equine Surgery and serving in the NATO-Kosovo campaign as Mountain Ranger Officer he moved subsequently to Athens, GA to complete a PhD in Physiology on equine laminitis under the supervision of Dr. James N. Moore. In 2007 he became a Resident of Large Animal Surgery at Virginia Tech to fulfil the requirements for Board Certification by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons while working successfully on his Masters of Science thesis in equine colic.

In 2011 Erik joined the newly established School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences of University of Adelaide. He worked with Prof Riley on the design of the new equine hospital, the Equine Health and Performance Centre, and executed the construction of the center between 2012 and 2014. Subsequent to writing the business plan for the new state of the art, large bore 16 slice CT scanner from Toshiba, he received the funding, redesigned the CT- room and implemented the scanner as a clinical and research imaging tool for the school and University of Adelaide.
