SAHMRI: United for a better future for all Australians

This week, NAIDOC Week 2019, the SAHMRI Community listened deeply to the outstanding array of guests invited to share their lessons and experience.

We heard the call to action to respond to this year’s NAIDOC Week Theme, ‘Voice. Treaty. Truth.’, three key elements to the reform set out in the Uluru Statement from the Heart.

The SAHMRI Community stands side-by-side with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples in support of the Uluru Statement from the Heart.

We hear your call for constitutional and legislative reform to enshrine a First Nations Voice in the Australian Constitution and for the establishment of a Makarrata Commission to lead agreement-making and truth-telling between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and governments.

We, at SAHMRI, are united for a better future for all Australians. We are committed to listening, learning, and shaping that future together.
