Loren Matthews

Loren is the Supervisor of the Surgical and Imaging Facility at (SAHMRI-PIRL) South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute - PreClinical, Imaging and Research laboratories.

Loren started her career as an animal technician 30 years ago with the Dept of Agriculture. She has also worked for the CSIRO, IMVS and SA Pathology before transferring to SAHMRI. Due to assisting with a wide range of research projects on Large and Small Animal Models of human disease this has enabled her to master different technical skills which helps with the range of work performed at PIRL.

Working in the research industry has enabled her to be involved with some very exciting research being conducted by local, interstate and international research groups. this has also meant meeting some very interesting people along the way. She has also been a member of the Animal Ethics Committee for a number of years.

SAHMRI has fantastic facilities and staff who are very passionate about their job, Loren is fortunate to work with an enthausiastic bunch of people that keep work interesting.
