    Celine Northcott

    Celine Northcott is a Research Fellow at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) and is concurrently pursuing her PhD in Medicine (Paediatrics) at the University of Adelaide. Her academic background is cross-disciplinary, encompassing a Bachelor of Business in Marketing and a Master of Research in Population Health Practice. This diverse skill set enables her to bridge the gap between rigorous academic research and practical healthcare applications, driving impactful change at the population level.

    Celine’s current research at SAHMRI focuses on health translation and implementation, including the dissemination, implementation, and evaluation of a state-wide Omega-3 Test-and-Treat Program aimed at preventing preterm births. Furthermore, she is actively involved in discovery science and clinical trials within the field of fatty acids as part of her fellowship role in within the SAHMRI Women and Kids Theme.

    Celine is a strong advocate for disease prevention and health promotion. Her multidisciplinary expertise has positioned her to lead impactful population-level initiatives, involving extensive collaborations with industry, government, and academia. Her work has played a pivotal role in curbing illicit drug use behaviours and promoting physical activity through awareness campaigns. She has also contributed significantly to the dissemination and evaluation of alcohol and other drug programs.
