SAHMRI is South Australia’s flagship independent health and medical research institute. The position is co-funded by SAHMRI and the National Imaging Facility (NIF) to bring imaging facilities and imaging expertise to the research community.

The Research Radiographer/NIF Fellow will be primarily based at SAHMRI’s Preclinical Imaging and Research Laboratories (PIRL) at Gilles Plains and Bioresources facility on North Terrace, Adelaide. Imaging modalities available include 3T MRI, CT/PET, fluoroscopy, general radiography, ultrasound and novel apparatus.

This position will work in partnership with a small, dynamic and flexible team of local NIF Facility fellows, Animal Technicians, Veterinarians, and Researchers who are dedicated to facilitating quality research. The successful candidate does not need to be experienced in every imaging modality offered at SAHMRI, however the drive and willingness to learn the fundamentals of each modality is important.

SAHMRI supports flexible working arrangements for staff as well as employee benefits including attractive salary packaging options.

  • Writing and presentation skills - analysis/report writing/grant writing/presentations, etc.
  • Project management skills: good time management, timely delivery of outputs, monitoring / resolving issues
  • Comfortable to be hands-on in animal studies, although no prior experience necessary

Special Requirements

  • Some out of hours work may be required, including weekends and public holidays.
