Summary

Full-Time, 6-Month Contract

At the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI), we are committed to achieving innovative, ground-breaking health and medical research that fundamentally improves the quality of life for all people.

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Project Officer to join our team, supporting the registries as part of the wider project team. In this position, your core focus will be across four key registries, including organ donation, heart and lung transplantation and eye and tissue donation. Responsibilities of the role include coordination of project services including supporting collection and collation of data for the registries throughout Australia and New Zealand. Your success in this position will be driven by your initiative, adaptability, proactivity, and resourcefulness.

The position will be offered initially as a 6-month contract, with probability of extension.

About the role

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Support the management of registries by coordinating and assisting with the collection, data entry, reporting, and distribution of survey requirements on a monthly cycle.
  • Effectively prioritise and re-prioritise tasks as needed to respond to dynamic work environments and project demands
  • Organise and facilitate meetings, including preparing agendas, taking accurate minutes, tracking action items, and ensuring follow-up actions are completed in a timely manner
  • Contribute to the registry’s objective of maintaining high-quality data by demonstrating a meticulous approach to work and strong attention to detail.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records and proactively addressing and preventing errors to ensure data integrity.
  • Ensure all service activities within the division are conducted professionally and align with a customer-focused approach, fostering a culture that is responsive to the needs of business partners and external clients.

About You

The successful candidate will possess the following key attributes:

  • Training in project management and/or healthcare are desirable
  • Experience working within the healthcare setting(essential)
  • Knowledge in organ donation and transplantation (desirable)
  • Experience/knowledge working with a clinical quality registry (desirable)
  • Experience in project work including working as part of a project team, using initiative and experience to drive project work forward with minimal direction.
  • Experience working within the healthcare setting with knowledge/understanding of healthcare terminology, specifically in organ donation and transplantation.
  • Experience working within a clinical quality registry and/or understanding of the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Framework for Australian clinical quality registries.
  • Demonstrated advanced time management skills, including planning and prioritising task and deadlines.
  • Experience in working in areas where confidentiality must be applied and maintained.
  • Demonstrated ability to readily assimilate new information and procedures and react positively in implementing change.
  • Experience working with healthcare data
