Infectious Disease
The Infectious Disease group focuses on the influence of the microbiome on susceptibility to severe systemic infections including sepsis.
Particular areas of focus include the impact of intensive care on infectious outcomes, the prediction of sepsis in those undergoing cancer treatment and recurrent urinary tract infections.
The group has led the development of effective approaches to faecal microbiota transplantation and has expertise in comparative pathogen genomics, molecular epidemiology and the dissemination of antimicrobial resistance.
