Lifespan Human Neurophysiology

Lifespan Human Neurophysiology

The Lifespan Human Neurophysiology Group uses brain stimulation and imaging techniques to study brain function and so develop strategies to support brain health.

The group employs non-invasive transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), electroencephalography (EEG) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to characterise the neurophysiological determinants of healthy brain function across the human lifespan.

The overarching aim of this research is to provide new mechanistic insights into the roles of brain connectivity and plasticity in supporting late life cognitive health, with the potential to inform novel strategies for dementia prevention and therapy.
