Miss Jacqueline Rehn

Research Focus

Jacqueline Rehn joined the SAHMRI Bioinformatics Core Team after completing a Masters in Biotechnology (Biomedical) at the University of Adelaide. While supporting the Bioinformatics Core with various projects, her principal role is the analysis of RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) data within the Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) collaborative research group. ALL is the most common cancer affecting children and is caused by a variety of genetic alterations. Analysis of RNA-seq data can be used to detect genetic fusions and variants which may be causing or contributing to disease progression. Jacqueline is currently pursuing a PhD focuses on improving the detection and classification of patients with ALL using high-throughput sequencing technology, in order to identify appropriate treatment options.
