Anna Dawson

Anna is a mixed method Senior Research Fellow whose work focuses on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' health and wellbeing, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforce, and health services research. Situated in the Wardliparingga Aboriginal Research Unit at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Unit, she is currently working on knowledge translation projects for the Centre of Research Excellence in Aboriginal Chronic Disease Knowledge Translation and Exchange. This involves developing a best practice framework for Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations in addition to supporting capacity building activities for the sector. She is also working on a project funded by the Lowitja Institute which aims to understand stress and straying strong in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and human services' workforce. With a clinical background in physiotherapy, Anna has undertaken diverse research training to become proficient in a range of methodologies and culturally safe participatory approaches. She is interested in translating research findings using novel means that are meaningful and accessible to target audiences.
