Wellbeing drives next level innovation and technology in Adelaide and China

A collaboration between one of China’s powerhouse companies, Tusholdings, and South Australia will be launched on Monday, 4 September at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) by the Premier of South Australia, the Honourable Jay Weatherill MP and Mr Herbert Chen, Chief Operating Officer of Tusholdings.

Tusholdings is a RMB 100b company, building science parks, investing in infrastructure, technology and new ventures. Working closely with Tsinghua University in Beijing, Tusholdings H+Lab is implementing the science of positive psychology into everyday life.

Through a relationship with SAHMRI’s Wellbeing and Resilience Centre, which has a similar mission to build the wellbeing and psychological health of the whole population and to underpin a new wellbeing industry, H+Lab Australia will be launched.

H+Lab Australia will be home to the Tusholding’s TusStar Global Incubator Program, which currently operates across 80 locations. Powered by the Wellbeing and Resilience Centre’s research, H+Lab Australia will drive entrepreneurial success in diverse, early stage companies based in Adelaide, by improving the mental and physical health and wellbeing of entrepreneurs, supported by specific resilience skills and psychological strength development.

H+Lab Australia will operate as a credible and trusted people and investment bridge between Adelaide and China. It is expected that this powerful ‘bridge to the China market’ will attract other young start-ups to Adelaide to locate in and around H+Lab Australia. 

The is an example of South Australian business and government working together over three years to develop this important relationship between South Australian business and an influential global Chinese company.
