Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Research Translation Training Program

This exciting new Program gives Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants the opportunity to upskill, or reskill, in health research translation, and is suitable for a wide variety of people, including people working in health services; working on research projects; or enrolled in a Higher Degree by Research.

The program is an initiative of the Strengthening Aboriginal Capacity in Health Research Translation and Development in South Australia (StACTD) Project, which ultimately aims to reduce the time between research findings and improvements in health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Successful applicants will complete a foundational training course that provides participants with an overview of health research grounded in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing, being and doing, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander principles of research. Participants will be encouraged and financially supported to complete additional training related to health research translation and aligning with their interests, including short workshops; online training modules; virtual conference attendance; and formal qualifications (such as specialist certificates, graduate certificates, or diplomas). Group and individual support which may include mentoring and networking opportunities, will also be available.

The full cost of approved training costs/course fees will be covered for eligible participants.
