Be an Everyday Hero for Clinical Trials

SAHMRI joins Australia's first-ever National Medical Research Giving Day.

Be an Everyday Hero for Clinical Trials

On September 9, 2026, more than 30 medical research institutes will unite for the first-ever Medical Research Giving Day, and SAHMRI is raising funds to fast-track clinical trials and help create real impact, sooner.

Breakthroughs don't only happen in the lab. They happen because everyday people choose to back them... through a donation, or by putting their hand up to take part in a trial themselves. Today, you can do either. Or both.

Every Australian is affected by disease, eventually

The treatments we rely on today only exist because research made them possible, but many conditions people face right now still have no cure, limited treatment options, or outcomes that need to improve.

Clinical trials are the last, vital step that turns a discovery into something that can actually help a patient. They give South Australians access to emerging treatments closer to home, without the need to travel interstate and every trial depends on funding, infrastructure, and people willing to take part.

The SAHMRI Clinical Trials Fund

Your donation on Giving Day goes toward a new SAHMRI Clinical Trials Fund, vital seed funding that helps promising discoveries move faster toward patient care.

The Fund supports local and national trials being run for Australians right now: boosting research in its final stages, when it's closest to making a real difference.

On September 9, more than 30 institutes are joining forces to raise $500,000 and advance healthcare outcomes for all Australians.

Be an Everyday Hero, your way

Give, take part, or both. Every path leads to a healthier future for South Australians.
