Interested in working in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health research, with a strong focus on health equity?

Want to help build and strengthen SAHMRI’s Indigenous Collective?

The Wardliparingga Aboriginal Health Equity Theme at SAHMRI is based on Kaurna land. We are an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led research unit. We work with communities to improve wellbeing and health equity through high-quality, culturally safe research.

Our work is:

  • Led by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander researchers
  • Guided by community priorities (for example: chronic disease, social and emotional wellbeing, aged care, and healthy ageing)
  • Backed by expertise in population health, implementation science, and health services research

About the role

  • Supporting students and coordinating scholarships
  • Planning and delivering capability-building activities
  • Improving how we run our business operations
  • Promoting Wardliparingga’s work inside and outside SAHMRI

You will also help deliver the Wardliparingga Induction Program, develop simple tools and communication resources, and support coordination work for SAHMRI’s Indigenous Collective.

This position is available at 4 days a week, or part-time positions will also be considered.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide project and admin support to SAHMRI’s Indigenous Collective, with guidance from the Co-Theme Leaders (for example: booking the 6-weekly meetings, preparing agendas and papers, supporting events, and tracking actions).

  • Help plan and deliver Wardliparingga’s annual professional development and capability-building program in Indigenous health research.
  • Help coordinate and deliver the Wardliparingga Induction Program.
  • Maintain and update SAHMRI’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander talent register with the Co-Theme Leaders and Research Manager.
