About the role
The South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) is Australia's independent health and medical research institute, located in the heart of Adelaide's biomedical precinct.
SAHMRI's Clinical Trials Platform is a community-based clinical trial site with extensive experience delivering clinical trials across a broad range of therapeutic areas, including dermatology, cardiovascular disease, nutrition, gastroenterology, immunology, mental health, musculoskeletal disorders and medical devices.
As our clinical trial portfolio continues to grow, we are seeking medical practitioners who are interested in contributing to clinical research and providing medical oversight for participants enrolled in our studies.
About the Opportunity
We are currently seeking General Practitioners and/or Specialists to undertake Sub-Investigator roles and support active and upcoming clinical trials at SAHMRI.
We have an immediate need for medically qualified clinicians who can provide participant oversight within our clinical trial program. Working alongside an experienced clinical research team, Sub-Investigators play an important role in ensuring the safety, wellbeing and ongoing medical review of trial participants.
Depending on experience, qualifications and study requirements, opportunities may also arise to undertake responsibilities as a Principal Investigator.
Responsibilities may include:
- Medical oversight of clinical trial participants
- Participant eligibility assessments
- Conducting protocol-specific clinical procedures
- Review and assessment of adverse events
- Ongoing participant safety monitoring
- Supporting the ethical and compliant conduct of clinical trials
Engagement may be via casual employment or a contractor arrangement, depending on individual circumstances and/or study requirements.
What We Offer
- The opportunity to contribute to innovative clinical trials that may improve future patient care locally, nationally or internationally
- Flexible working arrangements with sessions scheduled around your availability
- Competitive remuneration
- Support from an experienced and collaborative clinical trial team
- Opportunities to build your experience as a Sub-Investigator or Principal Investigator
- Onsite parking when attending SAHMRI
What We're Looking For
- Current medical registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
- A commitment to participant safety and high-quality clinical care
- Strong communication and professional skills
- Availability to support participant visits during business hours
- Previous experience as a Sub-Investigator or Principal Investigator is highly desirable
Clinicians with an interest in clinical research and a willingness to undertake investigator training are also encouraged to apply
Express Your Interest
We are particularly interested in hearing from clinicians who are available to support clinical trial participant visits in the coming months.
Whether you are an experienced clinical trial investigator or looking to expand your involvement in clinical research, we would welcome your expression of interest.
