Why omega-3 matters?
- Low omega-3 status in early pregnancy is associated with increased risk of early preterm birth (before 34 weeks).
- Evidence supports targeted omega-3 supplementation for women identified as having low omega-3 levels.
- Testing before 20 weeks’ gestation identifies women most likely to benefit.
