Dr Sonia Garcia Caraballo

Dr. Garcia Caraballo is a Research Associate in the Visceral Pain Research Group. She is involved in numerous projects aimed at discovering the molecular changes occurring within sensory nerve pathways innervating the viscera (internal organs) in chronic pain diseases. Her strengths are in implementing new techniques in molecular expression, microscopy and data analysis.

Dr. Garcia Caraballo completed her Human Nutrition studies at the Justus-Liebig University in Germany. After, she completed her post-graduate studies at the Dept. of Anatomy of Maastricht University (NL) in 2015.
