Business Manager for Wardliparingga Aboriginal Health Equity at SAHMRI and Research Manager for the Centre of Research Excellence in Translating Nutritional Science to Good Health. Previously a University Postdoctoral Fellow at the Hugo Centre for Migration and Population Research.Fidelma completed a PhD in Human Society, in the Discipline of Geography, Environment and Population, with a thesis entitled 'Contemporary Irish Migration to Australia, 2000-2015: Pathways to permanence'. This research focused on contemporary Irish migrants to Australia, Australia’s immigration system and its underlying policy, settlement processes, mental health and social media as a platform for support in the migration process. Her thesis was awarded a Dean's Commendation for Doctoral Thesis Excellence in April 2018 and won the John Lewis Silver Medal for Geography 2018 awarded by the Royal Geographical Society of South Australia. Current research interests include international and regional migration, diaspora and cultural identity.
