Casey Kerr (nėe Cameron)

Casey is of Ngarrindjeri descent, born and raised on Kaurna Land in South Australia. Casey’s background includes working in state government where her role included providing high level administrative support and assisting with the coordination of departmental wellbeing program initiatives before deciding to pursue a career in Nursing.

Casey started with ACRA in 2017 through a cadetship with the University of Adelaide while she completed her nursing degree. Since then she has worked on several projects during her time with ACRA but has predominately worked in the Aboriginal Family and Baby Bundles (ABFABB) project, a mixed method study about healthy weight, physical activity, omega 3, and diet during pregnancy and up to 12 months after baby was born for both mother, baby (and some Dads); the Breastfeeding study a qualitative sub study of the ABFABB cohort; and the Infant and Toddler Feeding Study, a mixed method study about anaemia and low blood iron and diet, of babies from birth to 24 months. She hopes that her work will underpin intergenerational changes to improve health equity.
