Kailash Thapaliya

Dr. Thapaliya is currently working as a postdoctoral research fellow at SAHMRI Women and Kids, where he focuses on pharmacoepidemiology research.

Before joining SAHMRI Women and Kids, he worked as postdoctoral research fellow at Registry of Senior Australians (ROSA), SAHMRI. His work involved producing evidence necessary for practice and policy recommendations related to access, variation, and effectiveness of primary health care services that improve the health and wellbeing of aged care recipients, living in aged care facilities or in the community.

Dr Thapaliya was awarded his PhD in Clinical Epidemiology and Medical Statistics from the University of Newcastle, NSW in June 2021 after completing his Masters in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Pokhara University, Nepal in 2015.

In his current role, Dr. Thapaliya investigates the utilization and effects of medications and other substances pertaining to women’s and children’s health. Dr Thapaliya is skilled in handling large and complex datasets and perform data analysis using advanced analytical techniques. His core research interests include pharmacoepidemiology, women’s and children’s health, health care utilization, and longitudinal modelling.
