Dr Hui Li

Hui Li is a postdoctoral researcher in the Adelaide Medical School at The University of Adelaide, and South Australia Health and Medical Research Institute. She has a research interest in gastric vagal afferent signalling in health and diseases, including obesity and functional dyspepsia, and has significantly advanced understanding of the role vagal afferents play in appetite regulation and diseases. Her research results in publication of 25 peer-reviewed articles, majority of which are in prestigious journals, including Acta Physiologica (28/183) and Gastroenterology and Motility (14/145). She has been invited to present her work locally, nationally and internationally, and received a young Investigator award at Australasian Neurogastroenterology and Motility Association conference in 2015, best poster award for early career researcher at the SAHMRI Showcase in 2016, and first place award in 2019 Bliss*Adelaide poster presentation. She has also received research infrastructure funding awards in the UofA in 2019. She is currently supervising 2 PhD students, and has previously supervised 1 PhD student. She has been involved in professional societies and committees, and invited to chair symposia at conferences and review grants.
