Be Well Co is an entity of the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI).

Be Well Co is built on seven years of work as the SAHMRI Wellbeing and Resilience Centre, which develops, tests and implements mental health offerings across the Australian population. Be Well Co is focused on commercialising our offerings and furthering our impact and reach nationally, allowing us to bring our evidence-based solutions to the many people who benefit from working on their mental health.

As the Software Developer, you will work with Be Well Co researchers and team members to support the quality development and maintenance of the Be Well technology suite. You will liaise and coordinate with staff and external partners to analyse, design and develop novel features and solutions as well as maintain the performance and functionality of existing solutions. The Be Well technology suite comprises a measurement platform (Be Well Tracker) and a psychological skills training support app (Be Well Plan App), integrated via an integration API. This position will focus on the Tracker and APIs, with development of the app conducted by an external vendor. You will work closely with senior consultants providing technical and project management support to allow you to grow professionally in a safe and supported environment.

To succeed in this role you will comfortable communicating directly with clients and stakeholders and with working collaboratively to scope out and solve problems

About the role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Play a role in the analysis, development, implementation, testing and change management efforts for new software applications and changes to existing software applications
  • Support the development of new software applications and new features for existing software applications
  • Investigate and rectify issues with new and existing software applications
  • Ensure maintenance requirements are undertaken for the Be Well Tracker
  • Write technical documentation for new and existing software applications
  • Liaise with the wider SAHMRI and Be Well Co team and external partners to assist in the definition and refinement of requirements

 

About You

The successful candidate will possess the following key attributes:

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent
  • Experience in a similar position is desirable

Technical:

The below skills would be advantageous for performing the role, but you do not need all in order to be considered

  • Experience with C# and .NET Core
  • Experience with relational database design, Azure MS SQL Server
  • Responsive and accessible front-end development using HTML5, CSS and JavaScript
  • Experience with Angular 12+ and NgRx
  • Azure DevOps and general Azure instance management
  • Ability to understand an existing codebase and write meaningful unit level tests and documentation to improve overall code quality and supportability

Non-technical:

  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of staff including both technical and non-technical staff
  • Able to identify, analyse and creatively solve business problems into cost-effective and practical outcomes
  • Strong customer focus
  • Must be able to work together with external technical resource responsible for auxiliary solutions
  • Proven experience in implementing and supporting software solutions
  • Commitment to producing quality code
  • Experience in development of medical / mental health solutions would be advantageous but is not mandatory

  • Out of hours work may be required on some occasions in order to minimise disruption to applications
