Salary $71,400 (1.0FTE) - $72,677 (1.0FTE)

Health Translation SA (HTSA) is South Australia’s National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) accredited Research Translation Centre with 11 committed and active partners. We are committed to ensuring health and medical research is effectively used in policy and practice to improve the health of all South Australians. SAHMRI is the administering institution for HTSA.

Reporting to the HTSA Deputy Executive Director (ED) the Senior Business Support Officer will provide a high-level of coordination and administration support to various aspects within HTSA across several functions to ensure the smooth operation of the organisation.

The position will work collaboratively with HTSA staff, relevant SAHMRI staff and other key project staff that are connected to HTSA. The role will also interact with a range of external stakeholders.

Although the position is advertised at full-time, we are happy to consider part-time arrangements as part of our flexible working arrangements policy.

About the role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide executive support to the HTSA Executive Director, including calendar management, and coordinating travel including flights and accommodation.
  • Provide secretariat support to the HTSA Board and Chair including coordination and agenda preparation.
  • Provide secretariat support to other relevant committees as required.
  • Assist with day-to-day finance processes (purchase orders, receipting etc).
  • Assist with the coordination of contracts as required.
  • Facilitate smooth operational support for the HTSA team and all HTSA activities and events including organising meetings, logistics such as room bookings, catering arrangements, technology setup.
  • Format presentations and assist in the preparation of materials for internal and external presentations and other documents.
  • Support the preparation of reports and grant applications as required.

About You

The successful candidate will possess the following key attributes:

  • Completion of administration/management certificate/diploma or equivalent (desirable).
  • Experience providing high-level executive administrative support role (health/science/medical environment preferable but not essential).
  • Experience in providing secretariat support for board and/or committees.
  • Excellent levels of computer competency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, calendar management and communications technology
  • Familiarity with finances processes including purchase order and financial reconciliation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Some out of business hours work may be required.
