Research Translation Fellow

Full-Time (1.0FTE) or Part Time (0.8FTE), 2 Year Contract

Base Salary $110,000 - $115,000 Full Time Equivalent pa

We're looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our team in a role that will challenge and excite you every day. As our new Research Translation Fellow, you'll have the chance to work with a network of health and medical research professionals in SA and nationally on a variety of projects. In this role, you will broaden your experience in research translation, and strengthen your ability to meaningfully partner with consumers, clinicians, health services, decision makers and academics.

You will also be supported to further develop your skills and expertise through ongoing training and professional development opportunities, particularly in the areas of implementation science and research impact.

About the role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work with the HTSA team to drive translational research and evaluation activities that are congruent with HTSA’s strategic and operational plans.
  • Develop relationships with health services to support the embedding of research in health services especially in the area of implementation science
  • Efficiently conduct and oversee high quality research related activities in HTSA priority areas.
  • Lead the production of project reports and peer-reviewed publications that meet the needs and specifications of the target audiences, HTSA partners and other key stakeholders.

About You

This role will suit an EMCR looking to extend and consolidate their career in the research translation ecosystem in Australia.

The successful candidate will possess the following key attributes:

  • PhD in health-related field
  • Minimum 3 years experience working with health related fields
  • Demonstrated high-level methodological analytical skills with good attention to detail
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate research to a broad audience in a variety of formats (e.g. peer-reviewed articles, project reports, media/social media)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement
  • Demonstrated ability in creating and maintaining partnerships to develop strong and collaborative working relationships with people and organisations
  • A working knowledge and skills in implementation science (or a desire to be upskilled in this area – training in implementation science and research translation will be provided)
  • Strong information technology skills and ability to use a range of computer-based programs and online tools such as Microsoft Office/Teams


Special Requirements

  • Some out of business hours work is required.
  • Occasional interstate travel may be required.
  • Report immediately all serious incidents to the HTSA Executive Director as required and manage and arrange resolutions within appropriate timelines.
