The Bardy lab is looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow with a strong track record and interest in bioinformatics and human neurobiology. The Bardy lab’s cutting-edge research focuses on modelling human neurological disorders in vitro with patient-derived brain tissue.

The primary focus of this project will be on evaluating the potential of electro-pharmaceutics to improve cell repair in Parkinson’s disease. In addition, there will be opportunities to contribute to projects on childhood-onset dementia and brain cancer and the development of innovative stem cell biotechnologies.

The candidate will work in a vibrant and collaborative team with state-of-the-art equipment located at SAHMRI to contribute to the analysis of patient-derived neurons. We will provide the candidate with in-depth training in human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC), electrophysiology, neurobiology, high-content imaging and robotised drug screening.

Mentoring for career progression will be provided by SAHMRI, Flinders University and A/Prof Cedric Bardy. The position and research project is fully funded for three years with possibilities for extension.
