At the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI), we are committed to achieving innovative, ground-breaking health and medical research that fundamentally improves the quality of life for all people.

The purpose of this role is to assist with the conduct of clinical trials within Australia and New Zealand Dialysis and Transplant Association Registry (ANZDATA) to a high standard of quality and in accordance with relevant regulations and guidelines. Reporting to the Registry General Manager, the position will also work closely with all team members within ANZDATA and other staff members of the Symptom monitoring With Feedback Trial (SWIFT) for patient reported outcomes and relevant study site/s. The role will also interact with a range of external stakeholders including study participants, health professionals, internal and external investigators, study researchers and clinical staff and allied healthcare workers. This position is based in Victoria and will be required to work remotely.

About the role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Visiting participating study sites across Victoria, both metro and regional
  • Support Clinical staff with the collection and record data from participants and source documents for entry into web-based data management systems.
  • Always maintain confidentiality and good working relationships with study participants, research and medical staff and other external stakeholders
  • Engage in regular phone and email updates with Study Site contacts, Clinicians, the Clinical Trial Coordinator and Registry Manager
  • Liaise with health professional, internal and external investigators, study researchers and clinical staff.
  • Undertake administrative tasks to facilitate the conduct of clinical trials
  • Conduct the Clinical trial/s in accordance with study protocol, Good Clinical Practice guidelines (GCP) and HREC
  • Adhere to project timelines

 

About You

The successful candidate will possess the following key attributes:

  • Degree in Science or Health care disciple is desirable or studying towards
  • Good Clinical Practice Certification or ability to undertake
  • Understanding of Australian hospital systems and experience in working in a hospital setting, including ability to understand the implications of conducting research within this setting
  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills, exhibiting a caring, empathetic and positive attitude in all interactions with site and participants
  • Intermediate skill level for use and troubleshooting web-based data collection
  • Ability to maintain and understand the importance of confidentiality and privacy at all times
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills including the ability to prioritise work and work independently as appropriate

 

Special Requirements

  • Some out of hours’ work may be required.
  • Adherence to Victorian Health site specific COVID policies
  • Travel may be required at short notice
  • Own vehicle essential
